Free online booking and scheduling for solo and small service businesses
HoneyBook is built for sending proposals, contracts and invoices. 1MinuteBooking is built for clients who pick a date and pay a deposit themselves.
The difference is who does the work between the first message and the deposit.
The client fills in your inquiry form. You build a proposal, attach a contract, and send it with an invoice. They sign and pay. Clients picking a time on their own needs the Scheduler, which starts on the Essentials plan.
The client picks the service, adds extras or extra people at your prices, chooses a date and time, gives the address and pays a deposit. You confirm it, or turn on Instant booking. Jobs you can't price up front come in as a quote request with photos, and you reply with a price and a payment link.
Check this list first. If you need any of it, HoneyBook is the better fit.
We have no e-signature. Clients tick that they agree to your terms before they book, and you write the terms.
No proposals, and no invoices apart from your bookings. Each booking has its own printable invoice, which turns into a receipt once it's paid.
Cards aren't saved, so nothing is charged on a later date by itself. You send a link for the balance when it's due.
Confirmations and reminders go by email only. On the free plan, up to 5 automatic client emails go out a day.
One account is one person with one calendar. There are no team logins.
No integrations. Pro exports your bookings and clients to Excel, and calendar sync works on every plan.

1MinuteBooking has no monthly fee. It takes 2% of the card payments clients make through Stripe, and nothing on money you collect another way, like cash or e-transfer. HoneyBook charges a monthly fee whatever you take in, and Essentials, the first plan with the Scheduler, is $49 a month billed yearly. Both have card processing fees on top.
So the free plan costs less until your card payments reach about $2,450 a month. Take $1,500 a month in deposits by card and you pay $30 here. Above that, HoneyBook's flat fee works out cheaper.
Every job needs a signed contract, you bill weddings in several installments, you work with a team, or your bookkeeping runs through QuickBooks.
You work alone, clients find you through Instagram or your link, and you'd rather they pick a date and pay a deposit than wait for you to send paperwork.
It starts set up for the trades that most often compare HoneyBook: hair and makeup artists, photographers and party entertainers. Pick yours at sign-up and your services, prices and questions are already filled in.
For booking and deposits, yes. 1MinuteBooking is free for one person with no time limit: a booking page with your prices, quote requests with photos, email reminders and Stripe deposits. It doesn't do contracts with e-signatures, proposals or invoices on a payment schedule, which are the core of HoneyBook.
No, there's no e-signature. You can require clients to tick that they agree to your terms before they book, and the terms text is yours to write, a release or waiver included. If you need a signed contract for every job, HoneyBook or a separate e-signature tool fits better.
Yes. Clients pay a deposit when they book, a flat amount or a percentage. For the balance, open the booking and send a payment link: it asks only for what's still owed and works for 30 days. Cards aren't saved, so nothing is charged automatically on a later date the way a HoneyBook payment schedule can be.
There's no import. Clients are added as they book, or you add them yourself, and you enter upcoming jobs with New booking. Setup takes a few minutes: pick your type of business and your services, prices and questions start filled in.
