Questions home inspectors ask

Can I offer radon testing only with certain inspection types?

Yes - each add-on can be restricted to specific inspection types, like offering radon testing only with a standard or pre-listing inspection.

Do clients have to book through my booking page, or can I add bookings myself?

No. Clients don't need to use your public booking page for a booking to show up in your account. You can click Add client to save someone's contact details ahead of time, or use New booking to log an appointment yourself. That's handy for phone calls, emails, walk-ins and referrals. Price it from your services and add-ons, or choose Custom quote to enter a one-off price you've already agreed. It works like your booking page: add more than one person, pet or vehicle to one booking (if you've turned that on), answer your own booking questions, apply a coupon code, and see your open times for the day - required questions can be left blank, and you can still pick any time. These bookings sit in the same account as your online ones, so you can keep all your clients and appointments in one place. Bookings you create yourself don't email the client automatically. Open the booking and click Email client to send a pre-filled confirmation.

Can clients pay me by credit or debit card?

Yes - turn on Stripe Payments in your dashboard and a client's card gets charged, in full or as a deposit, straight into your own Stripe account before their request is even sent. It's entirely optional, though - you're always in control of payment, and can just as easily take cash, run a card in person with something like Square, or send your own payment link instead.

Can clients or agents tell me the property address when they book?

Yes - since every inspection happens at the property, the booking form collects the address by default.

Can pricing scale with square footage?

Yes - required Home Square Footage, Year Built and Foundation choices on every inspection each carry their own price and time, so a big 1940s house on a crawlspace prices itself.

Do clients need to download anything to book?

No - 1MinuteBooking is entirely web-based and works from any browser, on desktop or mobile.

Can I offer a rush turnaround as an add-on?

Yes - add a Rush Report add-on so clients who need a faster turnaround can pay for it at booking.

Can I charge for travel, and block time on my calendar for the drive?

Yes - with location options. The Home Inspector preset starts with "Within 20 miles (30 km) of us" (no charge), "20-40 miles (30-65 km) away" (+$25) and "More than 40 miles (65 km) away - we confirm first" (+$50). Change the names, prices and travel times, or add your own, under Settings > Locations. The extra price is added to the client's total and shown next to the location on your booking page. An optional note above the options can say where the distance is measured to. Each location also has a travel time - your drive. It is never shown to the client and is not added to their appointment. It blocks your calendar so no one can book you during the drive: before the appointment by default, or before and after if you set "A location's travel time blocks your calendar" to Before and after (Settings > Locations). For example, a 10:00-11:00 AM appointment with 30 minutes of travel blocks 9:30-11:00 AM, or 9:30-11:30 AM with Before and after.

Is this home inspector scheduling software, or just a booking form?

Both. Your booking page only offers start times that fit: inside your hours (up to two windows a day), long enough for the service plus any add-ons, clear of other bookings and your buffer, and within your notice and advance limits. Blackout dates take days off the page, and whether an unconfirmed request holds its slot is your call under Settings > Hours & availability. If you travel, the travel time on each location blocks your calendar around the appointment without showing on the client's side. There's no two-way calendar sync, texting or automatic reminders: a confirmed booking has an Add to Calendar button for Google, Apple and Outlook, and a one-click reminder email.
